1. Will the addition of the intake kit or the TB void the factory warranty?
No, the addition of the intake will not void the warranty, but the addition of the
TB will void the warranty on the stock TB itself, the warranty can only be affected
if the modification causes the problem.
2. What kind of mileage gains can I expect?
With the addition of just the intake kit you should be able to see improvements of
1-3mpg gains. This is can be improved with the addition of a free flowing exhaust
system. No need for an expensive cat back system, simply cutting in a free flow
muffler into the stock pipes will do the job.
3. How hard it is to install either the intake or the TB?
I include very straightforward instructions with all the kits. It should take about
15 minutes to install the intake kit and it should take about 30 minutes to install
the TB. And if you have any troubles while installing either kit, you can always call
me and we can walk through it together.
4. Do I really need to install the S bolt?
No, not if you don't really want to. I include the S bolt to help secure the intake kit,
and because the stock "h" bolts kind of hinder the airflow into the Throttle body. I would
suggest to use it because it really helps solidify the intake filter set up to the Throttle
body.
5. How does the core deposit work with the TB purchase?
When you order the TB kit, you will be sending in two checks. The Postal money order or
Cashiers check is the payment for the modified unit. The personal check is the deposit
on the stock core. I will hold the personal check until the stock core returns back to
me, at which time it will be voided and returned back to you. At no point will it be cashed,
unless after several attempts by me to contact you either through emails or by phone, if the core
has not been returned at that point, I will cash the check. It is not fair to me, or to the
others waiting for their throttle bodies to make them wait over a month.
6. How long will it take to get my intake or Throttle body?
I try to keep everything in stock to be able to ship out the intake kits the same day that I receive your payment
letter. The Throttle bodies are a bit harder to keep in stock because of the demand
and the costs of the units. Dan and I try to deliver them in a timely manner. I
regularly receive batches of the Throttle bodies about every week. It depends on how
quickly the cores return. To play it safe, I generally quote about a two-week
turnaround time…give or take a few days.
7. How does the Quick D intake compare with the cold air set-ups?
Well, that is a
question that will be asked 'til the end of time. The K&N cone filters make their
power by being able to take in an abundance of air volume. All the cool air setups I
have seen all use some sort of shield. These shields hinder the airflow to the filter.
The filter on my set up sits in front of the heat source, since hot air rises, and the cool
air is rushing in from the front of the vehicle…the only time heat is an issue is when
you are sitting still.
